Student Life

Chapel and Religious Life

List of 6 items.

  • Chapel Services

Chapel is an important part of our weekly community rhythm. During the academic week, all students attend chapel every Wednesday morning. On Sundays when school is in session, all boarders attend a Sunday Service held on our campus. Our speakers range from faculty to students to outside guests.
  • Classroom Devotions

Every class day other than Wednesday, teachers will begin the first class of the day with a five minute devotional time. This may include a scripture reading, prayer, or time of meditation.
  • Dorm Prayer

At the end of study hours (9:45pm) boarders meet in their dorm lounge with the dorm parent on duty for a short time of announcements and prayer.
  • Prayer Groups and Bible Studies

Each year there are a number of prayer groups and Bible studies on campus. Some are formed through student interest while others are started and led by faculty. Each dorm also provides their own opportunities for spiritual growth.
  • Driven - Youth Group

Our student-led, on-campus youth group, Driven meets one night a week after dinner in our school auditorium. The worship is led by our student worship band, the talk is given each week by one of the students, and students have reported that the prayer time at the end has been life-changing for them.
  • Mission Trips

Our mission trips take place over the summer and are led by faculty members. Recent trips have included service in West Virginia, Brazil, Poland, Austria, the Solomon Islands, and the Philippines.
