Getting Here

What if we told you that there was a school that was situated on 55 beautiful acres, with a direct train to Manhattan at its gates, a major world university across the street where students could take advantage of world-class university resources, and a beach within walking distance where students could swim, sail, or simply relax? There are few schools in the world with a better location than The Stony Brook School and our students take full advantage of its benefits.

Our students routinely engage in the cultural, culinary and educational benefits of New York City. They are able to establish connections with alumni who live and work in this area for internships and for future networking opportunities.

They secure research fellowships and internships at Stony Brook University and gain experiences on the SBU campus that are truly college preparatory.

They learn about marine life, and how to sail and navigate the Long Island Sound, which is 5 minutes from our campus. Through our robust sailing program, novices and experts alike can build their skills and take advantage of the nautical opportunities that abound. We are a School by the City, by the Sea and both greatly enrich The Stony Brook experience.
