Taylor Colucci, a senior at The Stony Brook School, ran to a personal best and school record-breaking performance at the Yale Track Classic in New Haven over the weekend. Colucci finished second in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.53, only one hundredth of a second behind the winning time of 6.52. Colucci broke the existing school record of 6.58, set by Khoren Lawson ’11 at the same meet one year ago. In the semi-finals Colucci ran 6.54, the second fastest time in school history. According to Dyestat, a national database of high school track results, Colucci is tied for fifth in New York State and ranked #50 in the U.S. with this performance. Colucci’s season continues as he has qualified to compete in the championship division of the 60-meter dash at the New Balance Indoor Nationals in March.
