90th Celebration Draws Hundreds from Across the Globe
An early-season nor’easter could not dampen the spirits of 360 honorees, alumni, parents, and faculty members who converged at the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Islandia for a gala fund raising event to mark The Stony Brook School’s 90th year.
Known as "90 in Ninety," this celebratory evening recognized 90 alumni as representative of the School's thousands of alumni who "serve the world through their character and leadership" in a multitude of professions – ranging from research scientists to professional athletes to missionaries to medical directors to military officers to public servants. Honorees were from the Bahamas, Canada, England, Japan, Kenya, Lebanon, the Philippines, and from 22 states across the U.S.
New York State Assemblyman Steven Englebright brought greetings, as did Brookhaven Town Councilman Steven Fiore-Rosenfeld. Other highlights included a multimedia presentation, honoree recognitions, excellent food, and a well-selected silent auction.
Thank you to each participant, sponsor, advertiser, and donor for helping to make this a truly wonderful evening! See below for a glimpse of the evening.
