Humanities 9
Through extensive study of primary sources, Humanities 9 introduces students to ancient narratives that portray the social, religious, political, economic, and cultural conditions in which the Hebrew Scriptures were written. The ancient Hebrews are compared with other ancient cultures, from the Sumerians to the Greeks and Romans. Secondary artistic sources such as film, art, music and stories are also studied for their interpretations of characters and events. The course ends with the reign of Augustus Caesar and the birth of Jesus. (1 credit)
Please note: All courses are not taught every semester. Offerings will vary depending on enrollment, student interest and semester scheduling.
