English as a Second Language I

English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are offered to international students who need to improve their English language skills. All are small, multi-level classes with instruction geared to individual needs, directed at building vocabulary and academic writing skills. Students are placed in appropriate sections based on evaluation of their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. In ESL I, students focus on improving their basic language skills in reading, writing, grammar, listening, speaking, and vocabulary. (1 credit)
Please note: All courses are not taught every semester. Offerings will vary depending on enrollment, student interest and semester scheduling.
