Advanced Placement Psychology
AP Psychology is equivalent to an introductory college course in psychology. The goals of the course are to provide a basic understanding of psychology and the major theories in the field, to provide a basic understanding of human nature from the perspective of psychology, and to increase self-awareness. Many ideas from psychology help to shape our culture and our experience in everyday life. This course seeks to look at some of these ideas, and to understand and critique them. The course will be discussion-oriented and as practical as possible. It will include guest lecturers who work in related fields. Students will be challenged to apply what they are learning to their lives where appropriate. This course does not fulfill a science requirement for graduation. (1 credit)
Please note: All courses are not taught every semester. Offerings will vary depending on enrollment, student interest and semester scheduling.
