Advanced Placement Biology (Prerequisites: Biology and Chemistry)
The AP Biology course is designed to be the equivalent of a college level introductory biology course. Currently, the curriculum is theme-based and is organized around molecules and cells, heredity and evolution, and organisms and populations. There is a strong emphasis on descriptive writing in this course, as well as further development of lab skills. The College Board requires 25% of all AP science courses be “hands-on.” To accommodate that goal, all AP Biology students have a weekly evening lab session. (1 credit)
Please note: All courses are not taught every semester. Offerings will vary depending on enrollment, student interest and semester scheduling.
