Interim Head of School
The Stony Brook School seeks an Interim Head of School to lead a community of 314 seventh through twelfth grade students and 42 faculty members. The school, located just fifty miles from New York City on the north shore of Long Island in historic Stony Brook, has a reputation for excellence in Christian education. The school is a thriving boarding/day community, with sound leadership by its Board of Trustees, dedicated and mission-driven teaching by its outstanding faculty, active learning by its bright and academically successful student population, and ongoing support and participation of parents, former parents, alumni, grandparents and friends. The Interim Head of School will serve during the 2012-2013 school year, beginning July 1. He or she will be charged with ensuring the continuing excellence of all aspects of the school’s operation in the context of the mission statement.
The Stony Brook School is an independent college preparatory school (grades 7-12) that exists to challenge young men and women to know Jesus Christ as Lord, to love others as themselves, and to grow in knowledge and skill, in order that they may serve the world through their character and leadership.
