TUTORIAL:
Summer 2008
In order to make our Tutorial program more
accessible, we are switching Tutorial to either before or
after camp, instead of during the camp day. The three available
blocks are before camp from 7:30 - 8:30, or after camp, from
3:45 - 4:45 or 4:45 - 5:45. The Tutorial Program is designed
to meet the specialized needs of the children in our Summer
Programs. Children will receive small group (2-3 per tutor)
instruction each day. The tutors are experienced in working
with children; many are teachers with classroom experience.
The program specializes in the review and
reinforcement of reading and math skills, as well as developing
writing skills. It is individually tailored to each child
based on both the tutor's assessment of the child and the
parent's input. Parents will be provided with a questionnaire
regarding their child's academic needs and goals. Once a child's
needs are assessed they will receive assistance in the areas
that need additional reinforcement. Unfinished schoolwork
from the previous year can be used as a starting point. Additionally,
the children will be exposed to new material as they progress.
The tutors contact parents weekly to provide progress updates.
All materials are provided but students are welcome to bring
textbooks if there is a particular one that they want help
with.
RATES:
$200 per session per block, $350 for two blocks per session,
$450 for all three blocks.
LUNCH:
Sessions
1 & 2
Available to on-campus programs only, $75
per session in advance or $8 per day.
Lunch includes selections from the refrigerated
salad bar, a rotating schedule of hot entrees, a bag of chips
or pretzels, dessert, milk and fruit. Options such as peanut
butter and jelly sandwiches or bagels are available each day.
Campers who bring their lunch will have their lunch refrigerated.
Campers in programs that eat lunch off-campus each day must
bring their own lunches; please see the program descriptions
for more information.
EXTENDED
DAY
Extended day care is available from 7:00
am to 8:00 am and 3:30pm to 6:00pm. $7/hr per camper or $100
per session if paid in advance. Campers arriving before 8:00
or remaining after regular dismissal concludes will automatically
be placed into the extended day program.
TRANSPORTATION:
Sessions 1 & 2 Only
Limited mini-bus transportation is available
within the areas listed. Registration for transportation closes
one week prior to the start of the session. Requests for transportation
will not be considered after that date. Cost is $200 per session
or $100 per week per camper for all sessions. Door to Door
pick up and drop off is available for the following zip codes:
