The
SBS Sports Camps provide an opportunity for young athletes
to improve their fundamental skills and to enjoy developing
new friendships. Experienced coaches are hired not only for
their teaching ability but also for their enthusiasm about
working closely with young people.
The
SBS Sports Camps utilize The Stony Brook School's fine athletic
facilities, including 6 tennis courts, 4 soccer fields, a
baseball field, a softball field, a heated indoor pool, a
gymnasium with a wooden floor (please no black-soled shoes),
a newly-remodeled field house, an outdoor basketball court,
and a 400 meter all-weather track. Each camper will receive
a camp T-shirt and either a cap, ball, or shorts, depending
on the sport.
We
offer discounts to teams that sign up for any of the sports
camps as a group. Call the camp office for details!

Long Island Tennis Academy teaching methodology, and will
lead campers through drills that will improve your overall
game and increase your confidence. The Long Island Tennis
Academy has been serving our community for the past 12 years.
Our mission is to have a positive influence on each of our
students. We look forward to bringing our teaching philosophy
to the six-court outdoor facility at our Stony Brook location.
Campers should come prepared to play tennis, with their own
racket, on the first day of each session.

Chipping, putting, driving, short and long game…it's
all here. Golf is the sport of the new millennium and is extremely
popular. Sign up quickly! Enrollment is limited and this program
is in high demand. Campers should come prepared with their
own bags (five clubs minimum), sneakers or soft spikes, six
golf balls and tees, golf glove (optional), hat, rain gear,
suntan lotion and water bottle. Each camper will receive a
collared shirt and a cap. Campers will travel to a course
at lease four days a week where they receive instruction from
golf professionals as well as our experienced instructors
utilizing the driving range, putting green, and other facilities.
After the instructional period campers will have an opportunity
to play actual holes on the course. On days not spent on the
course, campers receive instruction on campus or go on a fun
field trip. Due to the off-campus nature of the
program, campers must bring their own lunch.
VOLLEYBALL:
Week
1 Girls; Grades 3-9, $275
The volleyball camp provides a great introduction to the game
for young players and allows aspiring varsity players to work
with instructors that challenge them to improve their skills.
Campers learn to serve, bump, set, and spike during morning
instructional periods and other fun activities. They will
be able to apply what they learn in daily camps. The week
concludes with a tournament to crown a champion. Our
gymnasium has a wooden floor so black-soled shoes are not
permitted.

Little Leaguers and beginners. Campers will be split into
a younger and older group, and will learn the fundamentals

during daily instructional periods. They will get to use these
skills during daily games each afternoon. Older campers will
play games on our newly rebuilt regulation (90 ft. bases)
field, complete with dugouts! The week will conclude with
a tournament to crown a camp champion. Campers
need to bring their own gloves and wear cleats or sneakers;
they are welcome to bring their own bats.
SOFTBALL:
Week 2 Girls; Grades 3-9, $275
New for this year, the softball
camp is a great introduction for beginners and an opportunity
