The Stony Brook School, founded in 1922, is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory, boarding and day school for grades 7-12. The School’s motto, Character Before Career, is the foundation of a Stony Brook education.

The Stony Brook School Summer Programs, founded in 1959, uphold the mission and motto of the School, providing an environment that fosters character development and personal growth in young people.

Daily activities incorporate five areas of personal growth: physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual. Our staff provides enthusiastic and caring supervision of all children. Each staff member shares a commitment to exemplifying morality in motive, thought, action and responsibility to others. Each camp department has a rich curriculum led by an expert in his/her field. Heads of camp and counselors are rigorously trained to implement all aspects of the program. Every camp counselor is assigned a small group, allowing for a very attentive camp experience.

This summer we open our newly renovated indoor swimming pool, which will bring an added dimension to our camp programs.

While The Stony Brook School is Christian in its heritage and scope, the School welcomes and seeks to serve individuals of all faiths. We invite you to learn more about the School's admissions process.

We look forward to a summer filled with imagination & excellence!
