The Stony Brook School, founded in 1922, is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory, boarding and day school for grades 7-12. The School’s motto, Character Before Career, is the foundation of a Stony Brook education.

The Stony Brook School Summer Programs, founded in 1959, uphold the mission and motto of the School, providing an environment that fosters character development and personal growth in young people.

Daily activities incorporate five areas of personal growth: physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual. Our staff provides enthusiastic and caring supervi-sion of all children. Each staff member shares a commitment to exemplifying morality in motive, thought, action and responsibility to others. Each camp department has a rich curriculum led by an expert in his/her field. Heads of camp and counselors are rigorously trained to implement all aspects of the program. Every camp counselor is assigned a small group, allowing for a very attentive camp experience.

This summer we open our newly renovated indoor swimming pool, which will bring an added dimension to our camp programs.

While The Stony Brook School is Christian in its heritage and scope, the school welcomes and seeks to serve individuals of all faiths. We invite you to learn more about the School's admissions process.

Imagine Camp’s Mission

Imagine Camps International designs programs to maximize the talents of young people by cultivating imagination, inspiring mindfulness, and fostering community involvement.

Imagine Camps International and The Stony Brook School are excited about this newly formed partnership that combines nearly 90 years of summer camp experience.

ICI’S fundamental focus is to create and implement programs that maximize the talents of young people while nurturing their ability to see all the possibilities and solutions that they encounter in life. To attain these goals, we follow the guiding principles of imagination and perseverance along with individual and community achievement. With every program and camp experience, we seek to challenge young people and our staff to thoughtfully support the core principles upon which ICI was founded.

Imagine Camps International appreciates the opportunity to create programs that are vital to the success of our summer campers. Any questions you may have regarding the summer programs can be discussed with Harold Ramirez, ICI’S Director for the past 17 years.

We look forward to a summer filled with imagination & excellence!
