“You
can accomplish anything in life, provided you do not mind who
gets the credit.” -
Harry S. Truman
The mission of The Stony Brook School is to educate young people
to “serve the world with their character and leadership.”
Using the example of Jesus, who said, “the Son of Man
did not come to be served, but to serve and to give up His life
as a ransom for many,” we provide training and experience
in leadership through a curriculum developed for our prefects,
workjob leaders, dorm council, honor council, and athletic captains.
Our goal is to provide leaders who understand that leadership
means serving others. In his book, Good to Great, Jim
Collins discusses the need for humble but fearless leaders in
the corporate world, who have a concern for the company and
who give credit to others for the company’s success. We
are excited about the opportunity to develop young adults of
moral character and vision, who provide leadership that transforms
companies and communities. |
