The Stony Brook School is looking for students who have average to above average grades, as well as solid scores on the SSAT, PSAT, or SAT, an interest in the arts or athletics, demonstrated leadership potential, and a desire to be at Stony Brook. Below you will find instructions to complete the application process.

By using the Inquiry Form page you may request further information, before applying.

 

1. Fill out an application that is available as a download in our Forms section or request by email or by calling (631) 751-1800 x 1, fax (631) 751-4211. Return the application to the Admissions Office with the applicable fee, as directed on the application.

2. Provide math and English teachers with our teacher recommendation forms and envelopes (addressed to the Admissions Office). Forms and instructions found here.

3. Submit grades from the last school year and the current school year, along with standardized tests to the Admissions Office.

4. Complete the SSAT exam (register online) and have scores sent to the Admissions Office (School Code # 7510).

5. Contact the Admissions Office to schedule an interview after you have completed the application form, teacher recommendation forms, submitted grades, and registered for the SSAT.

6. Financial Aid: IF requesting financial aid, be sure to check the appropriate box on the Admissions Application Form. Forms will be mailed after January 1, once your application has been received. In order to be considered for financial aid, the applicant must be an accepted student, and the financial aid forms must be submitted by March 1.

7. International Students: If you require English as a Second Language or are unsure if you need ESL, click here for information. Application Deadline is December 1 of the year before your expected enrollment.
