this page to a FriendLatin students from Latin II, III and Latin IV/AP competed in the 9th Annual Suffolk Classical Society's Latin CERTAMEN (Contest) at SUNY Stony Brook on March 26, 2007. Over 250 local middle-school and high-school students participated in the Contest.
Paul Bisagni (Patchogue), Zach Philyaw (Stony Brook), Derek Valet (Holbrook) and Winston Walker competed in the Advanced Level, being edged out of the final round by only 2 questions by the eventual first place team.
Latin 3's team of Alex Reiner (Old Field), Samantha Lee (Islip), Christian Wentling and Chris Sarrica (Lake Grove) came in 5th out of 15 teams.
The team of Sarah Higgins (East Setauket), Maggie Pavao (Stony Brook), Joseph Mak (Stony Brook) and Brian Harrington (Shoreham) competed for the first time in the Latin 2 competition.
