International Festival at
The Stony Brook School

This winter, The Stony Brook School held its 16th Annual International Festival. It was a week of focus on the cultures of students at the Stony Brook School. The Festival continued all week with an international menu in the Johnston Hall Dining Room. Cuisines prepared by our SAGE Food Services included: Arabic, French, German, Greek, Turkish, Indian, Italian, Jamaican, Japanese, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

Transformed into an international bazaar of ethnic cuisine, Gaebelein Library was filled with display tables manned by students in colorful traditional costumes from various countries or regions of the world. The Festival program included native performances in music, theatre, dance, and literature by students. Countries represented included: Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Guatemala, Hong King, India, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Senegal, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, USA, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.

The SBS community thoroughly enjoyed International Week, with International Chapel, ethnic menus, the International Assembly, and the Saturday night Festival of tables and performances.
