The Stony Brook School held its eighty-sixth Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 23, 2009. The baccalaureate sermon was given by Rev. Jarvis Ward, of Mission America. Stephen Clapp, violin faculty member and dean emeritus of The Juilliard School, gave the commencement address.
The Stony Brook School graduated 60 students. The Class of 2009 is characteristic of a typical Stony Brook School class representing 7 states within the USA as well as these countries: China, France, Korea, Russia, Taiwan, Tanzania, Turkey, Ukraine, and Vietnam. Students will be attending a variety of colleges and universities come August.
