SBS GIRLS SOCCER IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

The Varsity Girls' Soccer team played in the "Final Four" for the Class 'C' New York State Girls Soccer title against Seton Catholic High School (Plattsburgh, NY) at the Tompkins-Cortland Community College, in Cortland, New York. The game went into the second period of over time with no goals made by either team. In the 107th minute Kelsey Wentling (New York) scored off an assist from Michelle Hennessey (Stony Brook) to lead Stony Brook (12-5-2) to a 1-0 victory in the Class C State semifinal at Tompkins-Cortland Community College. The Lady Bears will now play against Sauquoit Valley (Section III) in the state final at 9:00 am on Saturday, November 21, at SUNY-Cortland. It is The Stony Brook Schools' first-ever appearance in the girls' soccer state championship game.
