Twelve finalists competed in The Stony Brook School's Nineteenth Annual Declamation Contest sponsored by the SBS upper school English department in January. The surrounding community watched as the students competed to determine the winner of three categories: oration, humor and drama. The declamation winners were Drama: Valeria Naymark (Russia) with The Seagull by Anton Chekhov; Humor: Jeremy Jung-Hoon Yoo (Korea) "Hot or Not," by Andy Borowitz; and Oration: Rebekah Sides (Stony Brook) with "Broadcast Talk" by C.S. Lewis.

Bo Liao (China), a non-competitor and representative of our ESL students, presented the "Inaugural Address" by John F. Kennedy to a standing ovation!
