Pandolfi finished with 19 points and seven assists. Junior Logan Vimont (Saudia Arabia) added 18 points and nine rebounds, as well as being a defensive presence in the middle. Also strong defensively for the Bears were senior captains Franz Lawrence (Jamaica) and Aaron Frazier (Rosedale), who were very aggressive in Coach Hickey's man-to-man scheme. The game was very close until the last minute, as Mercy led by one at the end of the first half and again going into the fourth quarter. With the win, Stony Brook improves to 13-5 on the season, including three wins against Mercy, all hard-fought victories. The girls will try for their fourth consecutive Section XI Class C Championship this Friday, February 20 at 1:00 at Center Moriches High School.
